An idea seed: Batman as Job

Something Chad Underkoffler said once triggered an idea:

  • Almost everyone is scared of Batman.
  • Everyone is scared of Joker.
  • The only person scared of neither: Lex Luthor.

He went on a touch further, but I went a different direction. First, put Luthor in Gotham — if not physically, then the influence of LuthorCorp. Then, get Christian Mythos all up in this house:

  • Lex Luthor is the Archangel of Order.
  • The Joker is the Archangel of Chaos.
  • Both were sent down to Earth to test the worth of mortals.
  • Bruce Wayne is the chosen one, the modern day Job.
  • Because he’s Batman, he knows what he’s up against. He knows the responsibility before him.
  • And he doesn’t take their shit.
