By popular demand #icmf

Since people have asked about some of the obscure hashtags the kids are using on Twitter these days:

#icmf — implicit “, motherfuckers” (pronounced “implicit-comma-motherfuckers”)

You use this when you are tweeting something that you feel needs a “motherfuckers” at the end. Like, say, if you’re being cocky or frustrated. The word is rather versatile.

Origin: Will Hindmarch

#iel — implicit ”…ladies” (pronounced “implicit-ellipsis-ladies”)

You use this when what you’re tweeting really, really calls for a “…ladies” after it.

Origin: Chad Underkoffler & me

#yien — yes, implicit ”…no” *pronounced ” (pronounced “yes-implicit-ellipsis-no”)

You use this when what you tweet or are responding to needs a token agreement followed by a drawn-out negative. As in, “yeah…no.”

Origin: E. Foley

There you go, Internet.

[Edit: changed the “implied” to “implicit”]
